Stone Sour Cover Feature
Magazine: Metal Hammer

In May 2017, Metal Hammer began work on a Stone Sour cover feature celebrating the release of their album Hydrograd. Frontman Corey Taylor had been particularly outspoken about then-President Donald Trump, which sparked the concept of creating a tongue-in-cheek alternate reality, one where Corey was President and Josh Rand served as his Vice President.

I developed the visual concept through initial sketches, exploring how the idea could come to life on the cover. Working closely with photographer John McMurtrie, who shot Corey and Josh in a London studio, we aligned on composition, mood, and tone to capture the right balance of satire and style.

Once the photography was complete, the talented team at Magictorch recreated the Oval Office using a detailed 3D model, adjusting the lighting, positioning, and atmosphere to achieve a cinematic, high-impact finish.

We also added subtle Easter eggs for fans, such as photographs of the rest of the band placed on the desk since timing prevented them from joining the shoot.

Software Used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
